Home page sections

The home page sections, in order, with the name they have in Elementor’s Navigator and their CSS ID (the anchor used by one-page mode and by links such as /#welcome).

  • A CPD record card hero: The home page opens with a member's record card: one numbered box per CPD hour, filled by kind (structured, self-directed, booked) with the log of what filled them.
  • Membership grades with letters: Student, Associate, Member and Fellow rows with post-nominal letters, who each grade is for, its yearly CPD hours drawn as a strip, and the fee.
  • CPD events worth their hours: Event rows with date, place, format, the CPD hours as boxes, member and non-member prices and a booking link; an annual conference page with programme and tickets.
  • Route, register and code: The route to membership in four steps, a public register to check a name, council and committees, and a code of conduct with a complaints route.
  • Free Elementor and a ready enquiry form: Every page is built with free Elementor widgets on Hello Elementor, with a membership enquiry form made with the free WPForms Lite plugin. Fonts are bundled: no Google Fonts requests.

The demo import creates this main menu (Appearance → Menus):

  • Home
  • About → Council and committees, Code of conduct, Public register
  • Membership → Membership grades (Associate (AHS), Member (MHS), Fellow (FHS)), How to apply, Fees
  • Events → Annual conference, CPD requirements
  • Bulletin
  • Contact

Header button: Apply to join (link #route), changed in Appearance → Customize → LT Society options.

One-page mode (Pro)

With Pro Standard or Pro Unlimited, tick One-page mode on the home page in Appearance → Customize → LT Society options and the menu scrolls to these sections: Welcome, Membership, CPD events, Becoming a member, Public register, What membership includes, Questions, Bulletin, Society rooms. To change the labels or leave sections out, see One-page mode.

Used the old LT Society onepage WordPress theme? It is not sold any more: version 2.0 is one theme for both. Install its Pro edition and turn on one-page mode.

Colours and fonts

Change them in Elementor Site Settings → Global Colors and Global Fonts; the whole site follows.

Form

With WPForms Lite active, the demo import creates the form Membership enquiry on the Contact page. Fields: Your name (required), Email (required), Phone (optional), I am asking about (required), Where you are now, Years in practice, Your question, Consent (required). Email subject: “Membership enquiry from the website”. After sending, visitors see: “Thank you. The membership team will reply by email, usually within three working days.”

See Contact form for where messages go and how to change the fields.

Demo content to replace

Everything marked with one of these in the demo is sample content: names, numbers, prices and addresses that you replace with your own (or delete):

  • (sample)
  • Example prices
  • example.com
  • (555)
  • Halden Society
  • Halden
  • Guild Row
  • Springfield
  • AHS
  • MHS
  • FHS
  • Keep one box per CPD hour: do not use hour boxes as bullets, section numbers or decoration.
  • Keep the four box kinds (structured, self-directed, booked, to do) with their names in words; never let colour alone carry the meaning.
  • Use post-nominal letters only after a name or a grade.

Only publish facts that are true for your business: real prices, opening hours, reviews and qualifications. Pro Unlimited’s launch checker lists every sample marker left on the site.

Photo guide

The demo uses placeholder pictures. Replace each one in Elementor (click it → Choose image) with a photo of about this size; save photos as JPEG or WebP under about 300 KB.

Questions about LT Society

Do I need Elementor Pro?

No. LT Society uses only the free Elementor plugin and the free Hello Elementor theme. The header and footer are part of the theme, so you do not need Theme Builder.

Does it work for any professional body?

Yes. The demo is a society of building surveyors, but grades, letters, CPD hours, events and the register are plain Elementor rows you rename for accountants, engineers, librarians or any trade association.

Is the register or event booking a working database?

No. The register rows and events are normal Elementor content you edit, and bookings and name checks go through the enquiry form. For online payments or a searchable member database, add a membership plugin.

Will my site look like the demo?

Yes, with Pro: Appearance > Demo import creates every page, the colours, fonts, menu, header and footer. The demo photos are replaced by placeholders you swap for your own.

What is the difference between Free and Pro?

Free has the design, header and footer, the About and Contact pages and the blog. Pro adds the home page, Membership and Events pages with their sub-pages, sample posts, one-click demo import, credit removal, updates and support. Pro Unlimited adds the AI kit.

I have the old LT Society. Is this an update?

It is a new version 2.0 with a new design, built for free Elementor. Your current site keeps working; install 2.0 on a new site or a staging copy and import the demo there.

Also for Joomla

LT Society also exists as a Joomla template: see the LT Society Joomla docs.
