Home page sections

The home page sections, in order, with the name they have in Elementor’s Navigator and their CSS ID (the anchor used by one-page mode and by links such as /#now).

Section (Navigator name)CSS ID

Visit#visit
Collection#collection
Learn#learn

Journal#journal
  • An object and its label: The home page opens with one object on a painted gallery wall, its wall label and the exhibition it belongs to.
  • Exhibitions now and next: Current, upcoming and past exhibitions with dates, galleries and short texts in the label format.
  • Hours, tickets and access: Opening hours set like a label, ticket prices, directions, step-free access and contact desks.
  • Collection highlights: Objects with title, date, material and accession number, the way museums catalogue them.
  • Learning, events and membership: School and family sessions, a talks list with booking links and a membership band.
  • Free Elementor, nothing else: Built with free Elementor widgets on Hello Elementor; fonts are bundled, so there are no Google Fonts requests. One-page mode included.

The demo import creates this main menu (Appearance → Menus):

  • Home
  • Exhibitions → Current exhibitions, Coming soon
  • Visit → Tickets and prices (Groups and schools, Members), Accessibility, Getting here
  • About → Collection, Learning, Support us
  • Journal

Header button: Plan your visit (link #visit), changed in Appearance → Customize → LT Museum options.

One-page mode (Pro)

With Pro Standard or Pro Unlimited, tick One-page mode on the home page in Appearance → Customize → LT Museum options and the menu scrolls to these sections: Now on, Exhibitions, Visit, Collection, Learn, Events, Membership, Journal. To change the labels or leave sections out, see One-page mode.

Used the old LT Museum onepage WordPress theme? It is not sold any more: version 2.0 is one theme for both. Install its Pro edition and turn on one-page mode.

Form

With WPForms Lite active, the demo import creates the form Group visit enquiry on the Visit page. Fields: Your name (required), Email (required), School or organisation (required), Type of group (required), Number of visitors (required), Preferred dates, Interested in, Ages and anything we should know. Email subject: “Group visit enquiry from the website”. After sending, visitors see: “Thank you. Our learning team will reply by email within three working days.”

See Contact form for where messages go and how to change the fields.

Demo content to replace

Everything marked with one of these in the demo is sample content: names, numbers, prices and addresses that you replace with your own (or delete):

  • (sample)
  • Example prices
  • example.com
  • (555)
  • Valley Museum
  • Springfield
  • Riverside Trust
  • Keep each label to facts: title, date, material, credit, accession number; no marketing copy inside a label.
  • Gilt never carries text on light backgrounds.

Only publish facts that are true for your business: real prices, opening hours, reviews and qualifications. Pro Unlimited’s launch checker lists every sample marker left on the site.

Photo guide

The demo uses placeholder pictures. Replace each one in Elementor (click it → Choose image) with a photo of about this size; save photos as JPEG or WebP under about 300 KB.

Questions about LT Museum

Do I need Elementor Pro?

No. LT Museum uses only the free Elementor plugin and the free Hello Elementor theme.

Can I add more objects to the collection section?

Yes. Each object is a photo with a label column; duplicate one in Elementor and change the photo and the label lines.

Will my site look like the demo?

Yes, with Pro: Appearance > Demo import creates every page, colours, fonts, menu, header and footer. Demo photos are replaced by placeholders you swap for your own.

Does it sell tickets online?

No. It shows hours and prices and links to your ticketing service. Group visits are booked with a 'Group visit enquiry' form made with the free WPForms Lite plugin.

What is the difference between Free and Pro?

Free has the design, header and footer, the About and Visit pages and the blog. Pro adds the home page, the Exhibitions page, sample posts, demo import, credit removal, updates and support. Pro Unlimited adds the AI kit.

I have the old LT Museum. Is this an update?

It is version 2.0 with a new design for free Elementor. Your current site keeps working; install 2.0 on a new site or a staging copy and import the demo there.

Also for Joomla

LT Museum also exists as a Joomla template: see the LT Museum Joomla docs.
