  • An appeal with a gift ladder: The home page opens with your appeal and a ladder of gifts, each rung an amount and the one thing it pays for, smallest at the bottom.
  • Programmes with their own rung: Each service gets a row and a page with times, place, who it is for and one rung of the ladder that shows what a gift does there.
  • Get help, simply: A three-step guide to getting help, opening times and a running-low list that tells donors what to bring this week.
  • Donate and volunteer pages: One-off and monthly ladders, ways to give, volunteer shifts, fundraising ideas and partner information for companies and schools.
  • Where every $100 goes: A plain breakdown of spending and income, ready for your own figures from the annual accounts.
  • Free Elementor and a ready form: Every page uses free Elementor widgets on Hello Elementor, with a 'Volunteer, give or ask for help' form made with the free WPForms Lite plugin. Fonts are bundled: no Google Fonts requests.

The demo import creates this main menu (Appearance → Menus):

  • Home
  • About us → Our story, Trustees and staff, Where the money goes
  • Our work → Food pantry (Get a food parcel, Give food, Pantry shifts), Warm space, Homework club
  • Get involved → Donate, Volunteer, Fundraise for us
  • News
  • Contact

Header button: Donate (link #appeal), changed in Appearance → Customize → LT Charity options.

One-page mode (Pro)

With Pro Standard or Pro Unlimited, tick One-page mode on the home page in Appearance → Customize → LT Charity options and the menu scrolls to these sections: Winter appeal, Our work, Running low, Get help, Volunteer, Where the money goes, A volunteer's story, Other ways to give, News, Find us. To change the labels or leave sections out, see One-page mode.

Used the old LT Charity onepage WordPress theme? It is not sold any more: version 2.0 is one theme for both. Install its Pro edition and turn on one-page mode.

Form

With WPForms Lite active, the demo import creates the form Volunteer, give or ask for help on the Contact page. Fields: Your name (required), Email (required), Phone (optional), What is it about? (required), When are you free? (volunteers), How should we reply?, Your message (required), Privacy (required). Email subject: “Message from the website”. After sending, visitors see: “Thank you. Someone from the pantry team will reply by email, usually within two working days.”

See Contact form for where messages go and how to change the fields.

Demo content to replace

Everything marked with one of these in the demo is sample content: names, numbers, prices and addresses that you replace with your own (or delete):

  • (sample)
  • Example prices
  • example.com
  • (555)
  • Hillside Community Pantry
  • Springfield
  • Orchard Road
  • Keep the gift ladder honest: every rung is a real cost from the charity's books, largest amount at the top, and no more than six rungs.
  • Keep tabard marigold for the ladder rungs and marks on damson bands; never use it for text on light backgrounds.
  • Do not add impact counters or progress bars that are not backed by the accounts.

Only publish facts that are true for your business: real prices, opening hours, reviews and qualifications. Pro Unlimited’s launch checker lists every sample marker left on the site.

Photo guide

The demo uses placeholder pictures. Replace each one in Elementor (click it → Choose image) with a photo of about this size; save photos as JPEG or WebP under about 300 KB.

Questions about LT Charity

Do I need Elementor Pro?

No. LT Charity uses only the free Elementor plugin and the free Hello Elementor theme. The header and footer are part of the theme, so you do not need Theme Builder.

Can it take online donations?

The theme does not process payments. Link the Donate buttons to the donation page of your payment provider or fundraising platform, or use the ways-to-give rows for bank transfer and standing orders.

Can I change the amounts on the gift ladder?

Yes. Each rung is a normal Elementor row with an amount and a sentence; edit them in the editor, or ask an AI assistant to do it with the AI kit's safe edit tool.

Will my site look like the demo?

Yes, with Pro: Appearance > Demo import creates every page, the colours, fonts, menu, header and footer. The demo photos are replaced by placeholders you swap for your own.

What is the difference between Free and Pro?

Free has the design, header and footer, the About us and Contact pages and the blog. Pro adds the home page, Our work, Get involved and their sub-pages, sample posts, one-click demo import, credit removal, updates and support. Pro Unlimited adds the AI kit.

I have the old LT Charity. Is this an update?

It is a new version 2.0 with a new design, built for free Elementor. Your current site keeps working; install 2.0 on a new site or a staging copy and import the demo there.

Also for Joomla

LT Charity also exists as a Joomla template: see the LT Charity Joomla docs.
