Home page sections

The home page sections, in order, with the name they have in Elementor’s Navigator and their CSS ID (the anchor used by one-page mode and by links such as /#board).

Section (Navigator name)CSS ID

MOT testing#mot
Repairs and prices#repairs

Call to action#due
  • Jobs on a shadow board: The home page opens with every job as a tool on a pegboard, with its from-price, time on the ramp and whether it can be fitted in this week.
  • MOT testing: MOT fees for cars and vans, what the tester checks, the three results explained, retest rules and a guide to common MOT fails.
  • Repairs and plain prices: Repair rows with what is included, the time it takes and the price, the labour rate and pages for servicing, brakes, clutches and diagnostics.
  • How a job runs: Five steps from booking to collection, so customers know about the phone call before any work and the old parts in the boot.
  • Free Elementor and a booking form: Every page is built with free Elementor widgets on Hello Elementor, with a booking request form made with the free WPForms Lite plugin. Fonts are bundled: no Google Fonts requests.

The demo import creates this main menu (Appearance → Menus):

  • Home
  • The garage → Our mechanics, Courtesy car and collection
  • Repairs → Servicing, Brakes, Clutch and gearbox, Diagnostics
  • MOT → Free retest, Common MOT fails (Lights and wipers, Tyres and wheels, Brakes and steering)
  • Advice
  • Book in

Header button: Book an MOT (link /book-in/), changed in Appearance → Customize → LT Garage options.

One-page mode (Pro)

With Pro Standard or Pro Unlimited, tick One-page mode on the home page in Appearance → Customize → LT Garage options and the menu scrolls to these sections: Jobs this week, MOT testing, Repairs and prices, How a job runs, The garage, Customer notes, Advice, Find us, Call to action. To change the labels or leave sections out, see One-page mode.

Used the old LT Garage onepage WordPress theme? It is not sold any more: version 2.0 is one theme for both. Install its Pro edition and turn on one-page mode.

Form

With WPForms Lite active, the demo import creates the form Booking request on the Book in page. Fields: Your name (required), Email (required), Phone, Car make, model and year (required), What does the car need? (required), Drop-off, Preferred day, What is the car doing?. Email subject: “Booking request from the website”. After sending, visitors see: “Thank you. We will ring or email you to confirm the day, usually within one working day.”

See Contact form for where messages go and how to change the fields.

Demo content to replace

Everything marked with one of these in the demo is sample content: names, numbers, prices and addresses that you replace with your own (or delete):

  • (sample)
  • Example prices
  • example.com
  • (555)
  • Kiln Street Garage
  • Kiln Street
  • Springfield
  • Sample customer
  • Keep the shadow board for the jobs and their weekly state: a tool on its peg means the job can be fitted in this week, a shadow means it is booked. Do not use it as decoration.
  • Board yellow is the board surface only: never use it for text or buttons.
  • Keep prices marked as example prices until they are your real prices, and never promise an MOT pass.

Only publish facts that are true for your business: real prices, opening hours, reviews and qualifications. Pro Unlimited’s launch checker lists every sample marker left on the site.

Photo guide

The demo uses placeholder pictures. Replace each one in Elementor (click it → Choose image) with a photo of about this size; save photos as JPEG or WebP under about 300 KB.

Questions about LT Garage

Do I need Elementor Pro?

No. LT Garage uses only the free Elementor plugin and the free Hello Elementor theme. The header and footer are part of the theme, so you do not need Theme Builder.

How do I show which jobs I can fit in this week?

Each job on the board is a tool image. Use the tool drawing when you have room that week, or its shadow drawing when the bay is booked, and type the next free day under it. The AI kit's safe edit tool can do this from a short instruction.

Will my site look like the demo?

Yes, with Pro: Appearance > Demo import creates every page, the colours, fonts, menu, header and footer. The demo photos are replaced by placeholders you swap for your own.

Does it work as a one-page site?

Yes. Turn on one-page mode in the Customizer and the menu scrolls to the home page sections; every edition includes it.

What is the difference between Free and Pro?

Free has the design, header and footer, The garage and Book in pages and the blog. Pro adds the home page, the Repairs and MOT pages with their sub-pages, sample posts, one-click demo import, credit removal, updates and support. Pro Unlimited adds the AI kit.

I have the old LT Garage. Is this an update?

It is a new version 2.0 with a new design, built for free Elementor. Your current site keeps working; install 2.0 on a new site or a staging copy and import the demo there.

Also for Joomla

LT Garage also exists as a Joomla template: see the LT Garage Joomla docs.
