LT Lico is a theme for small crypto newsrooms, explainer sites and newsletters, built for Elementor (free): a home page that opens on a desk board where every story shows how many of its six checks are done, plain news, explainers in reading order with a three-level basics branch, claims still being checked, scam warnings, a glossary, a standards page with a corrections log, and an 'Ask the desk' form. A Hello Elementor child theme with bundled fonts, one-page mode and a mobile menu. No prices, no charts, no trading.

Home page sections

The home page sections, in order, with the name they have in Elementor’s Navigator and their CSS ID (the anchor used by one-page mode and by links such as /#desk).

Section (Navigator name)CSS ID
Today's desk#desk
Risk notice#risk
News#news
Explainers#explainers
Claims we are checking#checking
Six checks#standards
Scams#scams
Words you will meet#words
Call to action#ask-cta
  • Six confirmations on every story: The home page opens on a desk board: today's stories, each with a strip of six squares that shows how many of its checks are done, and a ring on the newest check.
  • Explainers in reading order: Six explainers numbered in the order to read them, a topic list, a glossary and a three-level basics branch with a page for each explainer.
  • Claims we are checking: A section for rumours and reader alerts that are not yet reported, each with its check count and what is known so far.
  • Standards and corrections: A standards page with the six checks drawn large, one story traced check by check, label meanings and a corrections log.
  • Safety and risk built in: Scams with their tells, what to do after a scam, what the desk never asks for, and a risk line wherever buying or holding is mentioned. No prices, tickers or charts.
  • Free Elementor and a ready question form: Every page is built with free Elementor widgets on Hello Elementor, with an 'Ask the desk' form made with the free WPForms Lite plugin. Fonts are bundled: no Google Fonts requests.

The demo import creates this main menu (Appearance → Menus):

  • Home
  • News
  • Explainers → The basics (What a blockchain is, Wallets and keys, Fees and confirmations), Scams and safety, Glossary
  • How we confirm → Corrections
  • About → The desk, Funding and disclosures
  • Contact

Header button: Ask the desk (link /contact/#ask), changed in Appearance → Customize → LT Lico options.

One-page mode (Pro)

With Pro Standard or Pro Unlimited, tick One-page mode on the home page in Appearance → Customize → LT Lico options and the menu scrolls to these sections: Today's desk, Risk notice, News, Explainers, Claims we are checking, Six checks, Scams, Words you will meet, Call to action. To change the labels or leave sections out, see One-page mode.

Used the old LT Lico onepage WordPress theme? It is not sold any more: version 2.0 is one theme for both. Install its Pro edition and turn on one-page mode.

Form

With WPForms Lite active, the demo import creates the form Ask the desk on the Ask the desk page. Fields: Your name (required), Email (required), What is it about? (required), Link or story title (optional), Your question or tip (required), May we quote your question, without your name?, Before you send (required). Email subject: “Question for the desk from the website”. After sending, visitors see: “Thank you. An editor reads every message and replies by email within three working days. We never ask for recovery words, passwords or payment.”

See Contact form for where messages go and how to change the fields.

Demo content to replace

Everything marked with one of these in the demo is sample content: names, numbers, prices and addresses that you replace with your own (or delete):

  • (sample)
  • Example prices
  • example.com
  • (555)
  • Halden Crypto Desk
  • Halden
  • Springfield
  • Never add prices, tickers, charts, returns, predictions, 'buy now' or sign-up-to-trade links, exchange names or coin logos; keep the risk line (`lt-risk`) wherever buying or holding is mentioned.
  • A confirmation strip always has six squares, filled only for checks really done and in order, with the count written beside it; never use strips as decoration or as section numbers.
  • Use new-block yellow only for the newest-check ring and rules on night violet; never for text on light backgrounds.

Only publish facts that are true for your business: real prices, opening hours, reviews and qualifications. Pro Unlimited’s launch checker lists every sample marker left on the site.

Photo guide

The demo uses placeholder pictures. Replace each one in Elementor (click it → Choose image) with a photo of about this size; save photos as JPEG or WebP under about 300 KB.

Questions about LT Lico

Do I need Elementor Pro?

No. LT Lico uses only the free Elementor plugin and the free Hello Elementor theme. The header and footer are part of the theme, so you do not need Theme Builder.

Does the theme show crypto prices or charts?

No, on purpose. It is built for news and explainers, not trading: there are no tickers, charts or exchange widgets. If you add any, keep the risk warning next to them.

How do I change a story's check count?

The desk board and the claims are Text Editor widgets: each strip is six squares, and adding the class is-on to the next square fills it. Change the words beside it to match.

Will my site look like the demo?

Yes, with Pro: Appearance > Demo import creates every page, the colours, fonts, menu, header and footer. The demo photos are replaced by placeholders you swap for your own.

What is the difference between Free and Pro?

Free has the design, header and footer, the About and Contact pages and the blog. Pro adds the home page, the Explainers and Standards pages with their sub-pages, sample posts, one-click demo import, credit removal, updates and support. Pro Unlimited adds the AI kit.

I have the old LT Lico. Is this an update?

It is a new version 2.0 with a new design, built for free Elementor, and it is now a crypto news and explainers theme rather than an exchange site. Your current site keeps working; install 2.0 on a new site or a staging copy and import the demo there.

Also for Joomla

LT Lico also exists as a Joomla template: see the LT Lico Joomla docs.
