Your pages, posts, media and users stay as they are when you change theme. What changes is the design around them, and pages built with another page builder keep that builder’s layout.

Before you switch

  • Make a backup of files and database (most hosts do it in one click).
  • Best: try it on a staging copy of the site first (many hosts offer one).
  • In Appearance → Themes, use Live Preview on the theme to look around before activating it.

Upgrading from the old version of your LTHEME theme

Version 2.0 of every LTHEME Elementor theme is a new design, built for free Elementor on Hello Elementor. It is not an in-place update of the old theme: its pages, kit and menu are new. Install it on a new site or a staging copy, import the demo there and move your texts over. Your current site keeps working in the meantime.

The demo import on a live site

The demo import never changes your existing pages. Untick Use the imported home page as the front page to keep your homepage until the new one is ready.

The header shows the menu from Appearance → Menus. Assign your existing menu, or use the one the import creates. The themes have no widget sidebars: put that content into Elementor sections or the footer template.

Plugins

SEO, cache, booking and shop plugins keep working. Contact forms from other plugins keep working too: add their shortcode with Elementor’s Shortcode widget.
