Home page sections
The home page sections, in order, with the name they have in Elementor’s Navigator and their CSS ID (the anchor used by one-page mode and by links such as /#ballot).
| Section (Navigator name) | CSS ID |
|---|---|
| On the ballot | #ballot |
| Meet Maren | #meet |
| Where Maren stands | #issues |
| Listening sessions | #events |
| Plan your vote | #vote |
| Volunteer | #volunteer |
| Contribute | #contribute |
| Campaign updates | #updates |
| Campaign office | #office |
- A hero set like the sample ballot: The home page opens with the contest bar, the marking instructions and the candidate's line with the oval filled: office, date and how to vote in one look.
- Positions as ballot questions: Each local question gets a Yes and a No oval, the candidate's answer filled in and the reason underneath, linked to the plan.
- Plan your vote: Registration, mail ballot, early voting and election day as dated steps, with the next deadline ringed and polling-place questions.
- Volunteers and listening sessions: Volunteer roles with shift times, this week's shifts with how many people each needs, door-knocking and yard-sign pages and a session list.
- Neutral and transparent: A palette with no party colours, contribution rules in plain rows and a 'Paid for by' line in the footer.
- Free Elementor and a ready volunteer form: Every page is built with free Elementor widgets on Hello Elementor, with a 'Volunteer or ask a question' form made with the free WPForms Lite plugin. Fonts are bundled: no Google Fonts requests.
Menu
The demo import creates this main menu (Appearance → Menus):
- Home
- Meet Maren → Public service record, Campaign team
- Issues → Safer streets (School crossings, Sidewalk repair, Bus stops), Libraries and parks
- Get involved → Knock on doors, Host a yard sign, Plan your vote
- Updates
- Contact
Header button: Volunteer (link /contact/#help), changed in Appearance → Customize → LT Resan options.
One-page mode (Pro)
With Pro Standard or Pro Unlimited, tick One-page mode on the home page in Appearance → Customize → LT Resan options and the menu scrolls to these sections: On the ballot, Meet Maren, Where Maren stands, Listening sessions, Plan your vote, Volunteer, Contribute, Campaign updates, Campaign office. To change the labels or leave sections out, see One-page mode.
Used the old LT Resan onepage WordPress theme? It is not sold any more: version 2.0 is one theme for both. Install its Pro edition and turn on one-page mode.

Form
With WPForms Lite active, the demo import creates the form Volunteer or ask a question on the Contact page. Fields: Your name (required), Email (required), Phone (optional), Street or neighbourhood, Do you live in Ward 4?, How would you like to help? (required), When can you help?, Your question or message. Email subject: “Volunteer offer or question from the website”. After sending, visitors see: “Thank you. A volunteer coordinator will reply by email within two days (sample).”
See Contact form for where messages go and how to change the fields.
Demo content to replace
Everything marked with one of these in the demo is sample content: names, numbers, prices and addresses that you replace with your own (or delete):
(sample)(sample candidate)Example amountsexample.com(555)Maren CastilloCastillo for Ward 4Springfield
- Use a filled oval only for the candidate's own choice, and the ring only for the next voting deadline; never as decoration or bullets.
- Keep the palette neutral: do not recolour the site in a party's colours unless the campaign really is a party campaign.
- Do not present a quote, endorsement or photo of a real person as support unless they agreed to it in writing.
Only publish facts that are true for your business: real prices, opening hours, reviews and qualifications. Pro Unlimited’s launch checker lists every sample marker left on the site.

The demo uses placeholder pictures. Replace each one in Elementor (click it → Choose image) with a photo of about this size; save photos as JPEG or WebP under about 300 KB.

AI kit (Pro Unlimited)
The AI kit’s AGENTS.md tells an assistant how LT Resan is built. The CSS classes it relies on (keep them when you edit):
| CSS class | What it is |
|---|---|
lt-hero | home hero band (race, date, buttons + the ballot contest) |
lt-ballot | the ballot contest box; children lt-ballot__head (contest bar), lt-ballot__how (marking instructions), lt-choice lines |
lt-choice | one ballot line (candidate or write-in); add is-marked to fill its oval, lt-choice–writein for the write-in line |
lt-mark | a small oval with its label (Text editor); is-filled = chosen, lt-mark–tick / lt-mark–cross = wrong ways to mark |
lt-question | one local question with the candidate's Yes/No ovals (lt-question__marks) and the reason |
lt-steps | plan-your-vote dates in order; each lt-step (add is-next for the ringed next deadline) |
lt-event | one listening session row (date, place, topic) |
lt-role | one volunteer role row (role, when, action) |
lt-price | label/amount row (contribution rules, hours) |
lt-timeline | service record rows (year + what happened) |
lt-person | a team member (name + role) |
lt-pagehead | inner page heading band |
lt-desk | contact desk block |
lt-paidfor | the 'Paid for by' line in the footer |
See AI kit for the prompts, the safe edit tool and the launch checker.
Questions about LT Resan
Do I need Elementor Pro?
No. LT Resan uses only the free Elementor plugin and the free Hello Elementor theme. The header and footer are part of the theme, so you do not need Theme Builder.
Does it suit party campaigns and ballot measures?
Yes. The demo is a nonpartisan council race, but the contest bar takes any office, the colours change in Site Settings, and the Yes/No ovals work for a ballot measure campaign.
Does it take donations?
The theme shows how contributions work and sends people to the contact form. Payments need a separate service that meets your election rules; link its page from the button.
Will my site look like the demo?
Yes, with Pro: Appearance > Demo import creates every page, the colours, fonts, menu, header and footer. The demo photos are replaced by placeholders you swap for your own.
What is the difference between Free and Pro?
Free has the design, header and footer, the Meet the candidate and Contact pages and the blog. Pro adds the home page, the issues and get-involved pages with their sub-pages, sample posts, one-click demo import, credit removal, updates and support. Pro Unlimited adds the AI kit.
I have the old LT Resan. Is this an update?
It is a new version 2.0 with a new design, built for free Elementor. Your current site keeps working; install 2.0 on a new site or a staging copy and import the demo there.
Also for Joomla
LT Resan also exists as a Joomla template: see the LT Resan Joomla docs.
