  14. Questions about LT Whet

LT Whet is a WooCommerce block theme for shops that sell whetstones and knife care: water stones sorted by grit, strops, angle guides, kits and a mail-in sharpening service. It has a macro wet-stone hero with a grit scale bar, a stone grid with large grit numbers, a coarse-to-polish grit guide, an angle guide drawn per knife type, sharpening steps, stone care, a knife steel chart and a kit builder, all on WooCommerce's own blocks. Pro Unlimited adds the AI kit, so an assistant can rebrand and extend the store safely.

Store-type notes: Purpose store

  • The home page has only the sections this kind of shop needs; add more from the theme’s patterns if you want them.
  • Every fact in the specialist sections (guides, care notes, times, prices) is a sample: replace it with what is true for your shop.

AI kit (Pro Unlimited)

With Pro Unlimited, an AI assistant reads the theme rules and can swap in your stones and grits, update the angle guide and steel chart, set your service prices and build landing pages without breaking the blocks. It can also import the demo, switch styles and create draft pages through WordPress Abilities.

Example prompt: Set up this LT Whet store for my sharpening shop "Keen Bench" in Bristol (sample business). Stones from £22, mail-in sharpening at £8 per knife with a one-week return, bench drop-off Tuesday to Saturday. Use the Strop style, replace the sample stones with my five stones (220, 1000, 3000, 6000 and a 1000/4000 combination), keep the safety notes as placeholders and write my returns policy: unused stones within 30 days.

See AI kit for the files, the prompts and the Abilities.

Before you go live

Everything in the demo is sample content: products, prices, specs, reviews, addresses and opening times. Replace it with your own, or delete it, and follow the going-live checklist. Pro Unlimited: python3 tools/check-theme.py --launch in the theme folder lists every sample left.

Demo photos

The live demo of LT Whet shows real photos; the theme uses its own illustrations and placeholders. The photos are from Pexels, free to use under the Pexels licence (credit is not required, but we thank the photographers):

Questions about LT Whet

How does the grit scale filter work?

The Coarse, Medium, Fine and Polish segments link to the matching product categories. The bar sits in the hero, the grit guide and at the top of the shop and category pages, and the first four menu items carry the same stone colours.

Can I sell a sharpening service?

Yes. The demo sells mail-in sharpening as a WooCommerce variable product (number of knives and finish), with a service section that explains the steps and sample prices. Shipping and return postage are set up in WooCommerce.

Are the angles, grits and hardness ranges real data?

No. They are sample guidance marked as such. Replace them with your own advice and your stones' own ratings.

Does the theme include safety instructions?

No. Safety notes are placeholders for your own wording, and the art and demo photos never show blood or unsafe handling.

Can the kit builder sell custom bundles?

The kit builder shows the choices and an example kit. A live picker needs a product bundles plugin; the demo sells two ready kits as a variable product.

Do the demo photos come with the theme?

No. The live demo uses Pexels photos; the theme ships its own stone drawings, line drawings and illustrations.
