LT Dovetail is a WooCommerce block theme for shops that sell furniture, shop jig and outdoor woodworking plans as instant downloads. It comes with a blueprint hero, format chips, plan sheets with dimension lines, tool lists, skill levels, preview pages, a cut-list table and a personal / build-to-sell licence table, all built on WooCommerce's own blocks for the shop, product, cart and checkout pages. Pro Unlimited adds an AI kit so an assistant can rebrand the store and write your plan pages without breaking the design.

Quick setup
- Install and activate WooCommerce, then upload and activate LT Dovetail (Install the theme).
- Pro: Appearance → Demo import → Import (Demo import), then add your licence key in Appearance → Licence.
- Free: build the pages with the theme’s patterns and page layouts (below).
- Pick a colour style in Appearance → Editor → Styles, set your logo and menu.
- Replace the sample content and go live (Going live).
What the demo import adds (Pro)
Appearance → Demo import shows one demo, Dovetail: A sawdust-light shop for woodworking plans: a blueprint hero with an exploded chair, format chips, plan sheets with dimension lines, tool lists, skill levels, preview pages, a cut-list sample and two licences. It adds:
- 15 products (5 variable, with options, 15 virtual and downloadable, 3 on sale)
- 5 product categories: Furniture, Shop jigs, Outdoor builds, Storage & shelving, Plan bundles
- 6 pages: Home, Shop, Licences & downloads, About, Contact, Downloads & FAQ (WooCommerce’s own Cart, Checkout and My account pages are used as they are)
- The main menu: Plans, Licences, About, Help, Contact
- The style Workshop, the site title and tagline and the announcement bar text
Existing content is never changed: anything whose address is already taken is skipped. Prices are marked “Example prices”.

Store-type notes: Digital downloads
- The demo products are virtual and downloadable (no shipping), with sample download limits and expiry. The demo has no download files: for each product, add your own file in Product data → Downloadable files before you sell it.
- Customers find their files on the order confirmation page, in the order email and in My account → Downloads.
- The licence comparison in the demo shows sample terms: write your own licence (it is not legal advice).
AI kit (Pro Unlimited)
With Pro Unlimited, an AI assistant can read the theme's rules and rebrand Dovetail, write plan descriptions with sizes, tool lists and licences, and update the cut list and licence table without breaking the blocks. On a live site it can also import the demo, switch styles and draft landing pages through WordPress Abilities.

Before you go live
Everything in the demo is sample content: products, prices, specs, reviews, addresses and opening times. Replace it with your own, or delete it, and follow the going-live checklist. Pro Unlimited: python3 tools/check-theme.py --launch in the theme folder lists every sample left.

Questions about LT Dovetail
Does LT Dovetail handle downloadable products?
Yes. The demo plans are virtual and downloadable WooCommerce products. You attach your own PDF and CSV files in Product data → Downloadable files, and WooCommerce sends the download links after checkout.
Can I show sizes in metric and imperial?
Yes. The dimension lines, the cut-list table and the product descriptions are plain text, so you write each size in millimetres and inches. The demo shows both side by side.
How does the skill filter in the header work?
The chips open a WooCommerce product search for Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced or hand tools only. Each plan names its skill level in its short description, so no extra plugin is needed.
Can I sell a personal and a build-to-sell licence at different prices?
Yes. Make a plan a variable product with a Licence attribute and give each variation its own price and files. The licence table in the theme uses sample terms that you replace with your own.
Does the theme include safety instructions?
No. The tool list cards carry a placeholder safety note that you replace with your own text for each plan.
Can I use it for other plan or pattern downloads?
Yes. The format chips, plan sheets, file list, licence table and cut-list sections suit any shop that sells files with sizes and licences, such as sewing patterns or maker plans.
