LT Gnaw is a WooCommerce block theme for subscription boxes, shown as a dog box club that sends chews, toys and baked treats sized by dog, monthly or every 2 months. It has a collage hero with a plan card, a plan picker with a dog size x rhythm table, a chew strength guide, this month's theme box, skip / pause / cancel, a birthday box and placeholder toy safety notes, all on WooCommerce's own blocks. Pro Unlimited adds the AI kit, so an assistant can rebrand and extend the store safely.

Editions

  • Free: the LT Gnaw theme package: all templates, the section patterns, page layouts and colour styles. No demo content or demo import; the footer credit stays.
  • Pro Standard ($29 a year): + the complete LT Gnaw demo store with one-click import, one year of updates with a licence key and ticket support; the footer credit is removed.
  • Pro Unlimited ($49 once): + the AI kit, unlimited websites and lifetime updates and support.

Quick setup

  1. Install and activate WooCommerce, then upload and activate LT Gnaw (Install the theme).
  2. Pro: Appearance → Demo import → Import (Demo import), then add your licence key in Appearance → Licence.
  3. Free: build the pages with the theme’s patterns and page layouts (below).
  4. Pick a colour style in Appearance → Editor → Styles, set your logo and menu.
  5. Replace the sample content and go live (Going live).

What the demo import adds (Pro)

Appearance → Demo import shows one demo, Gnaw: A biscuit, rust and teal store for a dog box club: monthly or every-2-months boxes sized by dog, chews rated by strength, toys, treat refills and a birthday box, with a collage hero, a plan picker and a chew strength guide. It adds:

  • 15 products (7 variable, with options, 5 on sale)
  • 5 product categories: Box plans, Chews, Toys, Treats, Birthday & gifts
  • 6 pages: Home, Shop, How plans work, About, Contact, FAQ & delivery (WooCommerce’s own Cart, Checkout and My account pages are used as they are)
  • The main menu: Plans, Shop, About, FAQ, Contact
  • The style Gnaw, the site title and tagline and the announcement bar text

Existing content is never changed: anything whose address is already taken is skipped. Prices are marked “Example prices”.

Store-type notes: Subscription boxes

  • The plans in the demo are variable products (for example plan size × frequency), so a customer picks a plan and pays for one box at checkout.
  • WooCommerce alone does not take recurring payments. For automatic renewals, skip, pause and cancel in the customer’s account, add a subscriptions plugin and set the plans up as subscription products. The theme’s “how plans work”, skip / pause / cancel and gift sections are page content that you adapt to the plugin you choose.
  • Never promise automatic renewals, free cancellation or delivery dates that your set-up does not give.

AI kit (Pro Unlimited)

With the AI kit an assistant can set up your plans as variable products, update this month's theme box and the chew strength guide, and rebrand the store in theme.json without breaking the block markup. It follows rules that keep subscriptions-plugin notes, sample labels and toy-safety placeholders in place until you confirm the facts.

Example prompt: Set up this LT Gnaw store for my dog box club "Tug & Tail" (sample): Small, Medium and Large boxes, monthly at $28, $34 and $41 or every 2 months at $31, $37 and $45, a power chewer box, treat refills, a birthday box from $32 and gift runs of 3, 6 and 12 boxes, dispatch on the 3rd of the month, cut-off on the 28th. Before you go live

Everything in the demo is sample content: products, prices, specs, reviews, addresses and opening times. Replace it with your own, or delete it, and follow the going-live checklist. Pro Unlimited: python3 tools/check-theme.py --launch in the theme folder lists every sample left.

Questions about LT Gnaw

Does LT Gnaw renew subscriptions by itself?

No. The theme shows plans, a plan picker and skip / pause / cancel sections, but recurring orders and billing need a WooCommerce subscriptions plugin. Without one, each box is a one-off order.

How are the plans set up in the demo?

Each plan is a variable product with Dog size (Small, Medium, Large) and Frequency (monthly or every 2 months) attributes, so customers pick both on the product page.

Can I sell single toys and treats next to the plans?

Yes. The demo sells chews, toys and treats as normal products, a treat refill plan, and a birthday box and gift runs that are paid once.

Is the toy safety text ready to publish?

No. The toy safety notes and the safety headings in product descriptions are marked placeholders. Replace them with reviewed text for your products and your local rules.

Is the theme only for dog boxes?

No. The sections suit any subscription box, such as cat toys, craft kits or snacks: rename the chew strength guide and the theme box and swap the art.

Does the theme make vet or dental claims?

No. The demo copy describes size, material, chew strength and play only, and the AI rules tell assistants not to add vet, dental or health claims.
