LT Frond is a WooCommerce block theme for subscription boxes, shown as a houseplant club that sends a new plant, a pot that fits it and a care card every month or every two months. Its arched hero, arch-top cards, plan picker with a pot size x rhythm table, light level guide, this month's plant, care card preview and skip / pause / swap and gift sections all run on WooCommerce's own blocks. Pro Unlimited adds the AI kit, so an assistant can rebrand and extend the store safely.

Editions

  • Free: the LT Frond theme package: all templates, the section patterns, page layouts and colour styles. No demo content or demo import; the footer credit stays.
  • Pro Standard ($29 a year): + the complete LT Frond demo store with one-click import, one year of updates with a licence key and ticket support; the footer credit is removed.
  • Pro Unlimited ($49 once): + the AI kit, unlimited websites and lifetime updates and support.

Quick setup

  1. Install and activate WooCommerce, then upload and activate LT Frond (Install the theme).
  2. Pro: Appearance → Demo import → Import (Demo import), then add your licence key in Appearance → Licence.
  3. Free: build the pages with the theme’s patterns and page layouts (below).
  4. Pick a colour style in Appearance → Editor → Styles, set your logo and menu.
  5. Replace the sample content and go live (Going live).

What the demo import adds (Pro)

Appearance → Demo import shows one demo, Frond: A pale leaf, fern green and peach store for a houseplant club: a new plant and pot every month or every two months, single plants, pots, care tools and gift plans, with arched windows and cards, a plan picker, a light level guide and care cards. It adds:

  • 16 products (6 variable, with options, 4 on sale)
  • 5 product categories: Plant plans, Single plants, Pots & planters, Care tools, Plant gifts
  • 6 pages: Home, Shop, How plans work, About, Contact, FAQ & delivery (WooCommerce’s own Cart, Checkout and My account pages are used as they are)
  • The main menu: Plans, Shop, About, FAQ, Contact
  • The style Frond, the site title and tagline and the announcement bar text

Existing content is never changed: anything whose address is already taken is skipped. Prices are marked “Example prices”.

Store-type notes: Subscription boxes

  • The plans in the demo are variable products (for example plan size × frequency), so a customer picks a plan and pays for one box at checkout.
  • WooCommerce alone does not take recurring payments. For automatic renewals, skip, pause and cancel in the customer’s account, add a subscriptions plugin and set the plans up as subscription products. The theme’s “how plans work”, skip / pause / cancel and gift sections are page content that you adapt to the plugin you choose.
  • Never promise automatic renewals, free cancellation or delivery dates that your set-up does not give.

AI kit (Pro Unlimited)

With the AI kit an assistant can set up your plans as variable products, update this month's plant and its care card, and rebrand the store in theme.json without breaking the block markup. It follows rules that keep subscriptions-plugin notes, sample labels and pet-safety placeholders in place until you confirm the facts.

Example prompt: Set up this LT Frond store for my houseplant club "Leaf & Loam" (sample): Small, Medium and Large plans every month at $22, $32 and $48, every 2 months at $25, $36 and $54, gift plans of 3, 6 and 12 plants, dispatch on Tuesdays, cut-off Thursday. Use the Terracotta style with my brand colour #7A3B24, update the plan picker and plan table, and write the December plant and its care card.

Before you go live

Everything in the demo is sample content: products, prices, specs, reviews, addresses and opening times. Replace it with your own, or delete it, and follow the going-live checklist. Pro Unlimited: python3 tools/check-theme.py --launch in the theme folder lists every sample left.

Questions about LT Frond

Does LT Frond renew subscriptions by itself?

No. The theme shows plans, a plan picker and skip / pause / swap sections, but recurring orders and billing need a WooCommerce subscriptions plugin. Without one, each plant box is a one-off order.

How are the plans set up in the demo?

Each plan is a variable product with Pot size (Small, Medium, Large) and Frequency (every month or every 2 months) attributes, so customers pick both on the product page.

Can I sell single plants and pots next to the plans?

Yes. The demo sells single plants, pots, planters and care tools as normal products, and gift plans as a prepaid variable product.

How does the plant swap work?

The swap card explains how a customer could swap next month's plant from their account. That control comes from a subscriptions plugin; the theme shows the explainer and the plan products.

Is the pet-safety text ready to publish?

No. Pet notes in the care card, plant care questions and product descriptions are marked placeholders. Replace them with information you have checked for each plant.

Is the theme only for plant shops?

No. The sections suit any subscription box, such as flowers, seeds or coffee: rename the plan rows, the light guide and the care card, and swap the arch art.
